Private Villa Elevation, Telal Sharjah
Residential
The Vision
Telal VILLA Elevation
This private residence is located in Sharjah, the third-largest city in the
United Arab Emirates. Designed for a family of four, the villa reflects a refined architectural
language that merges minimalist geometry with warm natural materiality. The architectural
composition is defined by bold cubic volumes, strategically cantilevered to create depth,
shadow, and visual tension. The interplay of solid and void enhances spatial hierarchy
while reinforcing the modern identity of the structure.
ARCHITECTURAL MASSING & FORM
The villa is conceived as a sculptural composition of interlocking volumes. Clean
orthogonal forms are carefully proportioned to achieve balance and clarity. Large
cantilevered frames create protected terraces while emphasizing horizontality. Recessed
balconies introduce depth and provide natural shading in response to the regional climate.
Full-height glazing strengthens the indoor-outdoor relationship and allows natural light to
penetrate deep into the interior spaces.
FAÇADE MATERIALITY
The façade material palette was intentionally restrained to enhance architectural purity.
Natural travertine stone cladding is combined with thermowood vertical elements and slim
aluminum glazing systems. The warmth of thermowood complements the mineral texture
of travertine, creating a harmonious dialogue between organic and solid materials. The
contrast between stone volumes and transparent glass planes adds rhythm and
sophistication to the elevation.
LIGHTING CONCEPT
A carefully curated indirect lighting strategy enhances the villa’s architectural identity after
sunset. Integrated recessed lighting within the cantilevered volumes emphasizes the
floating effect of the upper masses. Soft wall-wash lighting highlights the texture of the
stone façade, while landscape lighting reinforces spatial depth and creates a welcoming
atmosphere. The nighttime composition transforms the villa into a sculptural luminous
object.
INTERIOR DESIGN APPROACH
The interior concept follows a modern-minimal philosophy developed in close collaboration
with the client. The selected color palette is based on beige, off-white, warm neutral tones,
and natural wood textures. Layered lighting, including indirect ceiling illumination and
accent floor lamps, creates a soft ambient atmosphere. Natural materials are consistently
used throughout the villa to enhance sensory comfort and establish a serene living
environment. Spatial planning ensures a clear distinction between public and private
zones, offering openness while maintaining privacy.
DESIGN INTENT
This project represents a contemporary family residence where architectural clarity,
material authenticity, and subtle lighting converge to create a timeless and tranquil living
experience. The villa balances bold modern geometry with warm human-centered design,
resulting in a refined yet welcoming home.
